CodeRoam - manual edition (for reference only)
================================================

This folder is NOT installed by CodeRoam-Setup.exe. It is here for anyone who is curious how
CodeRoam began, or who would rather run a plain script than an app.

What it is
----------
coderoam-manual.ps1 is a single PowerShell script that syncs your Claude Code chats between PCs
through a private GitHub repository, encrypted on your PC first. You run it yourself (or let it
schedule itself). It needs Git and the GitHub CLI (gh); its first run offers to install them.

    powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File coderoam-manual.ps1

Use the CodeRoam app instead if you can. The app does more:

                                    App Manual script
Runs in the background yes (tray) scheduled task, every 15 minutes
Chats larger than 90 MB yes (chunked) skipped
Merges chats changed on 2 PCs yes newer or longer copy wins
Matches folders between PCs yes no
Browse and resume any chat yes no
Needs Git and the GitHub CLI no yes
Looks good yes it is a console script

Important
---------
* The manual script and the app use DIFFERENT vault formats. Never point both at the same
repository. The script uses its own repository name (coderoam-manual-vault).
* Only chat transcripts (.jsonl files under ~/.claude/projects) are synced.
* Run it with -Action Status to check health, -Action Uninstall to remove its scheduled task.
* Everything in the Security and Privacy guide about encryption applies in spirit, but the
script has had far less testing than the app.

CodeRoam is an independent tool. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Anthropic.
